Club News
We were proud to announce the winners of the 2019 Kindness Challenge Event at the Rotary District 5790 Installation Dinner. We had over Clubs participating from all over the world! It was an honor to get so many clubs and individuals involved at the same time to spread the word and encourage kindness across our world. We look forward to doing this again in 2020!
Our guest Speakers Nena Saravia from Colombia and Suzanna Dooling from Texas joined us online to speak about various Recycling Initiatives their communities. We learned about how each area approached their Waste problems differently and the impact it had on their communities. They shared how easy it can be to recycle different materials so the Recycling Companies can use the materials again without ending up in the landfills. It was wonderful to discuss how each one of us can make a big difference with just a few little changes in our behaviour. And and easy way to involve the entire family.
Mark Grace, Chief of Mission and Ministry for Baylor Scott and White Health spoke to us about the importance of taken care of one self, mind and body. During this pandemic we experience additional stressors which impact all of us in different ways. Only 50% of employees are comfortable discussing mental health issues. While nearly 1 in 5 Americans say they had a physical reaction when thinking about the outbreak.
On August 5 we kicked off our second annual donation drive for Icanstillshine.org whose mission is to support woman and children from all walks of life, background regardless which zip code they live in. Last year we had a humble beginning of donating 1 car full of items. This year we were able to donate 3 car full of school supplies, toiletries, clothing, and food items.
In 2020 they are celebrating 26 years of helping battered women in Ft. Worth, Texas, and the surrounding areas. They have now reached out to thousands of women and children. However, they are not an overnight shelter, but will be happy to refer you to one.

If you too want to volunteer or drop off donations, call them at 817-616-3500.

Do you have the right stuff?
If you are a community member that would love to participate in Rotary, but whose family and work commitments make a traditional Rotary experience impossible, this is your opportunity.
Our members are from throughout the DFW Metroplex. We meet twice month via Zoom and we encourage the entire Family to participate. We schedule fellowship mixers throughout the area so that members can meet for fellowship and fun.
Our service projects are both what our members have a passion to do and in partnership with Rotary clubs where you live and work.
Our e-club is designed to be flexible allowing folks from all types of jobs and vocations to contribute without cramping their schedule.
